A chestpiece for a stethoscope, the chestpiece having a novel mix of desirable properties through being fabricated from the group of materials known as "high gravity compounds." These compounds are prepared by loading various plastic resins with high density metal powders. In spite of the metallic content, appropriate compounds can be injection molded, providing economic and aesthetic advantages.

L'invention concerne une lyre pour un stéthoscope, laquelle lyre présente un nouvel ensemble de propriétés avantageuses grâce à sa fabrication à partir de matériaux connus comme étant des "composés haute gravité". Ces composés sont préparés par adjonction de poudres métalliques haute densité à diverses résines plastiques. En dépit de la teneur en métaux, des composés appropriés peuvent être moulés par injection, ce qui permet d'offrir des avantages économiques et esthétiques.
