- 12 - STICK FOR RINGETTE OR THE LIKE AND INSERT THEREFOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE "Ringette" requires the use of a stick, the one end of which engages through the ring and rapidly becomes worn due to engagement with the ice surface thereby result- ing in a sharpened end which is dangerous and is in fact banned by the rules of the game. A T-shaped metal or plas- tic end is formed with the stem of the T formation inserted within a slot formed in the lower end of the stick. An an- nular groove is formed around the outside of the stick spaced from the end and located intermediate the ends of the stem so that a thread or cord such as a synthetic resin or glass fibre thread, together with resin, can be wrapped around the end portion within the groove to retain the insert in position and to prevent the end of the stick from splitting at the slot.
