Abstract of the Disclosure Disclosed are compounds of formula I, Image I in which the R1's are the same and signify hydrogen or methyl, the R2's are the same and signify hydrogen; C1-6 alkyl; cyclohexyl, unsubstituted or substituted by up to three C1-6- alkyl radicals; or benzyl, unsubsti- tuted or substituted by up to two substituents selected form halogen, C1-6alkoxy and C1-6alkyl, and the M's signify hydrogen or a non-chromophoric cation, their production and use as optical brightening agents for cellulosic substrates, particularly paper substrate.
