A luminescent light-guide solar concentrator. The concentrator has an optically transmissive sheet that includes either a layer of luminescent particles or is impregnated with luminescent particles that absorb sunlight incident thereon from any direction. The luminescent particles re-emit light, which is trapped inside the sheet of glass and propagates inside the sheet by total internal reflection towards a photo- voltaic cell. A light source stimulates emission of light from luminescent particles.
