The invention relates to a stirrup insert (24) for a stirrup comprising a bearing surface (50) which is provided with a surface (34, 36) for placing a boot, and a holding area (52) which can be detachably connected to the stirrup. Said bearing surface (50) comprises an internal part (28) and an external part (26). Said internal part (28) is surrounded by the external part (26) at least in the z-direction. Preferably, the internal part (28) is softer than the external part (26).
