An accessory (10) for a stirrup iron (12) having a stirrup bottom (14) and a stirrup top (16), the stirrup top having an upper portion (18) to which a stirrup leather is attached, in use, and a pair of opposed side portions (22), the accessory dimensioned to be receivable within the stirrup opening (46) and including a receptacle (24) of a flexible material with a cover member (28) and a floor member (30) that defines a region (26) in which a boot or shoe of a rider is receivable, and at least one upper strap (32) that extends from the cover member to be engageable with the stirrup top, and at least one lower strap (34) or two side straps (52) that extend from the floor member or sides of the cover member respectively and engageable with the bottom or sides of the stirrup respectively, and a fastening arrangement (36) that is positioned on at least the straps to permit the straps and thus the receptacle to be releasably fastened to the stirrup iron, so that in use forward movement of the rider's boot, relative to the stirrup iron, is substantially checked, the fastening arrangement being adjustable so that the position of the receptacle relative to the stirrup iron can be adjusted, the straps being of sufficient length to go over the respective part of the stirrup to fasten to the receptacle, their adjustment resulting in adjustment of the toe position of the receptacle.
Cette invention concerne un accessoire (10) pour un étrier (12) comprenant une bas (14) et un haut (16). Le haut (16) comporte une partie supérieure (18) sur laquelle se fixe un cuir d'étrier pendant l'utilisation et une paire de parties latérales opposées (22). L'accessoire est dimensionné pour venir se loger dans les ouvertures (46) de l'étrier et comprend une partie réceptrice (24) en matériau souple avec une partie couvrante (28) et une semelle (30) qui définissent une région (26) pouvant recevoir la botte ou la chaussure du cavalier, avec au moins une lanière supérieure (32) partant de la partie couvrante et pouvant s'engager dans le sommet de l'étrier et au moins une lanière inférieure (34) ou deux lanières latérales (52) partant respectivement de la semelle ou des côtés de la partie couvrante et pouvant s'engager respectivement dans ladite semelle ou lesdits côtés. L'accessoire comprend également un dispositif de fixation (36) monté au moins sur les lanières et permettant auxdites lanières et, par là même, à la partie réceptrice, d'être fixées amovible à l'étrier. L'accessoire permet ainsi de stopper sensiblement le déplacement vers l'avant de la botte par rapport à l'étrier. Le dispositif de réglage est tel qu'il est possible de régler la position de la partie réceptrice par rapport à l'étrier. En effet, les lanières sont suffisamment longues pour passer par dessus l'étrier et se fixer sur la partie réceptrice de ce dernier, le réglage desdites lanières entraînant celui de la position de la pointe de la partie réceptrice.
