ABSTRACT A stone splitter in which a movable cutter blade assembly is mounted for movement toward and away from a fixed cutter blade assembly and wherein the drive means comprises two eccentric gear wheels connected to one another by means of a toothed rack so that the rotation of the gear wheels will move the movable cutter blade assembly toward and away from the fixed cutter blade assembly.
