The invention provides an improved stopper rod which is made by a method in which a composition to form the body of the stopper rod is charged into a mould (10), a removable core (12) being positioned in the mould (10) to form a longitudinally-extending bore (31, 41) in the stopper rod body, an externally- threaded removable insert (16) being positioned in the mould in correspondence core (12) to form an internal thread (37, 43) on a portion of the bore and a plate (18) being positioned in the mould to define a flat upper end (35, 40A) of the stopper rod body, characterised in that a spacer (22) is positioned between the externally-threaded insert (16) and the plate (18) whereby the internal thread (37, 43) in the bore (31, 41) of the stopper rod body is formed spaced from the upper end (35, 40A) of the body when the composition is pressed in the mould. The invention also provides a mould in which to make the improved stopper rod.
L'invention concerne une quenouille perfectionnée fabriquée selon un procédé dans lequel une composition destinée à former le corps de la quenouille est chargée dans un moule (10), un noyau (12) amovible étant positionné dans le moule (10) de manière à former un alésage (31, 41) longitudinal dans le corps de la quenouille, un insert (16) amovible à filetage externe étant positionné dans le moule de manière à correspondre avec le noyau (12) amovible pour former un filetage interne (37, 43) sur une partie de l'alésage, et une plaque (18) étant positionnée dans le moule de manière à définir une extrémité (35, 40A) supérieure plate du corps de la quenouille. Le procédé est caractérisé en ce qu'un écarteur (22) est positionné entre l'insert (16) à filetage externe et la plaque (18), ce qui permet au filetage interne (37, 43) de l'alésage (31, 41) du corps de la quenouille d'être formé à distance de l'extrémité supérieure (35, 40A) du corps lorsque la composition est comprimée dans le moule. L'invention concerne également un moule dans lequel fabriquer la quenouille améliorée.
