A storage device for a compact disk case allowing access to the compact disk stored therein without the necessity of removing the compact disk case from the storage device. More specifically, the storage device includes a plurality of holder units that are custom designed to frictionally engage the spine portion of the compact disk case and allow the cover thereof to pivot freely open while tapered shank that defines a support element that extends along a longitudinal axis of the holder unit pivotly engages a plurality of substantially vertical extending channels on a rack. Moreover, the ends of the tapered shank include projections that allow to locate the holder unit at one of two longitudinal positions in the channel, namely, a base position and an elevated position where for instance, an empty compact disk case becomes readily identifiable.
Dispositif de stockage pour boîtier de disque compact, donnant accès au disque dans le boîtier sans devoir retirer le boîtier du dispositif de stockage. Le dispositif comprend plus particulièrement une série de porte-boîtiers conçus spécialement pour saisir par friction le côté charnière du boîtier tout en permettant au couvercle du boîtier de s'ouvrir en pivotant. Il est également constitué d'une tige effilée agissant comme élément d'appui, qui suit l'axe longitudinal du porte-boîtier et s'insère, de façon à pouvoir pivoter, dans des rainures essentiellement verticales pratiquées dans un support. En outre, les extrémités de la tige effilée sont garnies d'une saillie qui permet de positionner l'élément d'appui dans deux positions longitudinales le long de la rainure, soit dans une position inférieure ou dans une position supérieure, qui permettrait par exemple de facilement repérer un boîtier vide.
