According to the invention, the storage device encompasses a plurality of storage containers (1) and a container (2), in which the storage containers (1) are arranged. Described is furthermore a method for fueling a vehicle with gaseous hydrogen by means of a variable pilgrim step method, where the gaseous hydrogen is removed from a storage device (2), which is divided into at least two, preferably into four or more than four sections (A, B, C and D) and is fed to the vehicle, which is to be fueled.
