The invention relates to an aqueous organic peroxide emulsion comprising an anti-freeze agent, a protective colloid, and a plasticiser wherein the plasticiser is an ester having a ratio of the number of carbon atoms present in the plasticiser molecule (excluding aromatic carbon atoms) to the number of ester groups in the molecule of higher than 8. These emulsions show a reduced droplet growth as compared to emulsions comprising a conventional plasticiser, i.e. the emulsions of the invention are more stable upon storage than the emulsions of the prior art. The invention emulsions are particularly useful in polymerisation processes such as the polymerisation of vinyl chloride monomer.
La présente invention concerne une émulsion de peroxyde organique aqueuse, comprenant un agent antigel, un colloïde protecteur et un plastifiant. Ledit plastifiant est un ester présentant un rapport du nombre d'atomes de carbone présents dans la molécule de plastifiant (à l'exception des atomes de carbone aromatiques) sur le nombre de groupes ester dans la molécule qui est supérieur à 8. Ces émulsions présentent une croissance de gouttelettes qui est inférieure à celle d'émulsions comprenant un plastifiant classique, c'est-à-dire que les émulsions selon cette invention sont plus stables au stockage que les émulsions de l'état de la technique. Les émulsions selon cette invention sont notamment utilisées dans des processus de polymérisation tels que la polymérisation de chlorure de vinyle monomère.
