A storage-stable composition is disclosed which is adapted for imparting water- repellent properties to masonry materials. Said composition comprises an aqueous emulsion which has a continuous aqueous phase and a discontinuous organosilicon phase. The emulsion is formulated from components comprising: (A) a water-insoluble alkoxysilane of the average general formula Rn-Si-R'(4- n) wherein n is a number from 1 to 2, R is a C5 - C20 monovalent hydrocarbon radical and R' is a C1 - C4 alkoxy group; (B) a hydrogen-functional polysiloxane having at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, at least five siloxy units per molecule and a kinematic viscosity between 0.5 x 10-6 and 1,000 x 10-6m2/sec. at 25 ~C; (C) an emulsifier; and (D) water. The discontinuous organosilicon phase comprises components (A and B) and the continuous aqueous phase is water. Components (A and B) are present in the organosilicon phase in a weight ratio of (A):(B) such that said emulsion is physically and chemically stable after storage for six months at room temperature, or for six weeks at 50 ~C.
L'invention concerne une composition stable au stockage, conçue pour conférer des propriétés hydrofuges à des matériaux de maçonnerie. Ladite composition est constituée d'une émulsion aqueuse comprenant une phase aqueuse continue et une phase organosiliciée discontinue. L'émulsion est formulée à partir de composants comprenant : (A) un alcoxysilane insoluble dans l'eau, de formule générale moyenne R¿n?-Si-R'¿(4-n)?, dans laquelle n vaut un nombre de 1 à 2, R représente un radical hydrocarbure monovalent C¿5?-C¿20? et R' représente un groupe alcoxy C¿1? - C¿4?; (B) un polysiloxane à fonctionnalité hydrogène possédant au moins deux atomes d'hydrogène à liaison silicium, par molécule, au moins cinq motifs siloxy par molécule et une viscosité cinématique comprise entre 0,5 x 10?-6¿ et 1,000 x 10?-6¿m?2¿/sec à 25 ·C ; (C) un émulsifiant ; et (D) de l'eau. La phase organosiliciée comprend les composants (A et B) et la phase aqueuse continue est constituée d'eau. Les composants (A et B) sont présents dans la phase organosiliciée selon un rapport pondéral de (A):(B), de sorte que ladite émulsion soit stable physiquement et chimiquement après un stockage pendant 6 mois à la température ambiante, ou pendant six semaines à 50 ·C.
