The invention provides a method for detecting a nucleic acid of interest in at least one sample, comprising administering said sample to a solid carrier capable of at least in part absorbing said sample, drying said carrier, providing at least a representative part of said carrier to a nucleic acid isolation solution so that a representative amount of said nucleic acid is extracted from said carrier, and detecting said representative amount of said nucleic acid. With a method of the invention a sample, such as a body fluid sample, is stabilized in such a way that it can be shipped from the site of taking (for instance local hospital or lab in a less-developed country) and be sent to a service testing laboratory elsewhere in the world by normal logistics means. Preferably at least 100 ~l , more preferably at least 250 ~l of sample is administered to said carrier, in order to detect low titers of nucleic acid of interest. A kit of parts for detecting, identifying and/or quantifying a nucleic acid of interest in a sample, comprising a solid carrier capable of at least in part absorbing said sample, and a nucleic acid isolation solution, is also herewith provided.
Cette invention concerne un procédé de détection d'un acide nucléique d'intérêt dans au moins un échantillon. Ce procédé consiste : à appliquer cet échantillon sur un support solide pouvant au moins en partie absorber cet échantillon ; à sécher ce support ; à mettre au moins une partie représentative de ce support en contact avec une solution d'isolation d'acide nucléique de sorte qu'une quantité représentative de cet acide nucléique soit extraite de ce support ; et à détecter cette quantité représentative de cet acide nucléique. Le procédé de cette invention permet à un échantillon, tel qu'un échantillon de fluide corporel, d'être stabilisé pour être expédié du site de prélèvement (par exemple un hôpital ou un laboratoire local se trouvant dans un pays peu développé) vers un laboratoire d'essais situé dans un autre pays du monde par un moyen logistique classique. On applique de préférence au moins 100 µl, idéalement au moins 250 µl, de l'échantillon sur ledit support afin de détecter de faibles dosages de l'acide nucléique d'intérêt. Cette invention porte également sur une trousse d'instruments permettant de détecter, d'identifier et/ou de quantifier un acide nucléique d'intérêt dans un échantillon, y compris un support solide pouvant absorber au moins en partie cet échantillon ainsi qu'une solution d'isolation d'acide nucléique.
