A stove guard for preventing pots from falling off the burner element of the stove is disclosed. The stove guard consists of a rigid three sided rectangular frame having right, left and forward members and an internal opening. The frame is dimensioned and configured to fit on top of the stove and contain the burner elements of the stove within the frame opening. The right and left members of the stove guard are each sufficiently tall to restrain the pots from being pulled out of the opening. The right and left members each have a recess positioned on the members such that the recess is adjacent the stove burner when the frame is positioned on the stove. The recess on the right and left members are configured to permit a pot handle to pass through the recess.
