A stove-top guard (10) for attach- ment to a cooking stove or range (12), to prevent small children, and others, from reaching surface burner units or hot cook- ing containers the stove-top surface, is described. The guard includes a venting system, which dissipates heat, and thus prevents the guard from becoming a haz- ard itself.
