The invention provides a means of storage of a firearm utility rod along the top of a gun barrel, the firearm utility rod being secured within a totally enclosed cavity provided by installing a groove in the top of the gun barrel matching a second groove similarly installed in the bottom of a sighting rib attached to the top of the gun barrel. Means are provided for temporarily securing the firearm utility rod in the cavity. Storage of the firearm utility rod along the top of the gun barrel represents an improvement over conventional methods of storing the utility rod along the bottom of the barrel where the rod, in its traditional storage position, interferes with the handling quality and accuracy potential of the firearm.
L'invention porte sur un moyen de rangement d'une baguette de nettoyage d'arme à feu sur le dessus d'un canon de fusil. La baguette est fixée à l'intérieur d'une cavité complètement entourée obtenue en pratiquant une rainure dans le dessus du canon du fusil qui correspond à une deuxième rainure pratiquée de façon semblable dans le fond d'une nervure de visée fixée au dessus du canon de fusil. Des dispositifs servent à fixer dans la cavité de manière temporaire la baguette de nettoyage de l'arme à feu. Le rangement de la baguette de nettoyage de l'arme à feu sur le dessus du canon de fusil constitue une amélioration comparativement aux méthodes de rangement traditionnelles de la baguette sous le dessous du canon, endroit où la baguette, à son emplacement de rangement traditionnel, nuit au maniement et à la précision de l'arme à feu.
