A twist-on wire connector having a housing with a spiral tread for engaging and holding electrical wires in an electrical connection and a chamber for carrying a member having a wire passageway so that the electrical wires can be retained within the connector by a wire holder to inhibit strain therein and a method of making an electrical connection that inhibits strain of the wire by inserting a plurality of wires into a spiral thread of a twist-on wire connector, rotating the plurality of wires to bring the electrical wires, into electrical connection with each other and squeezing a member around the plurality of wires to bring the member into frictional contact along a portion of the plurality of wires to axially restrain the plurality of wires and thereby inhibit strain on the plurality of wires held in the electrical connector.
L'invention concerne un connecteur à fil enroulable, qui comprend un boîtier muni d'un filetage hélicoïdal pour loger et retenir des fils électriques en raccordement électrique; et un compartiment abritant un élément muni d'un passage dans lequel les fils électriques sont retenus à l'intérieur du connecteur, au moyen d'un support de fils, pour y empêcher une tension des fils. L'invention concerne un procédé qui permet de: réaliser un raccordement électrique empêchant la tension du fil grâce à l'insertion de plusieurs fils dans un filetage hélicoïdal d'un connecteur à fil enroulable; enrouler les fils électriques pour les raccorder électriquement les uns aux autres et serrer un élément autour des fils pour amener l'élément en contact de friction le long d'une partie des fils pour bloquer axialement les fils et empêcher ainsi l'application d'une tension sur les fils retenus dans le connecteur électrique.
