A guide eye (200) for use with a traverse mechanism (110) of a strand (44) package (300) winder (100) is positioned with respect to the surface of the package (300) during the package (300) build process so that the guide eye (200) contacts the package (300) surface in the larger diameter, end regions (304, 306) of the package (300). This positioning provides a minimal free length (150) between the point at which the strand (44)s leaves the guide and the point at which the strand (44) contacts the package (300) surface, giving better control over the placement of the strand (44) onto the package (300) surface, particularly in the end portions (305, 307) of the package (300). Further, the guide eye (200) is pressed against the package (300) surface, slightly compressing the surface and pressing a portion of the preceding stand courses against the package (300). This pressure helps to fix the strand (44) in the position in which it was laid down to reduce displacement of the strand (44) course during the package (300) build process.

Cette invention concerne un oeilleton (200) de guidage que l'on utilise avec le mécanisme transversal (110) d'un enrouleur (100) de bobine (300) de brin (44). Cet oeilleton (200) est disposé, par rapport à la surface de la bobine (300) lors du processus de formation de celle-ci, de manière à entrer en contact avec ladite surface dans les zones extrêmes et de grand diamètre (304, 306) de ladite bobine (300). Cette pression favorise le maintien du brin (44) dans la position où il a été placé, ceci de manière à réduire le déplacement de la spire de brin (44) lors du processus de formation de la bobine (300).
