ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: An arrangement of coaxial neighbouring, mutually inde- pendently mounted strand guide rolls for use in a continuous casting installation for casting steel slabs is disclosed. At the region of the path of travel of the cast slab mutual- ly neighbouring bearing or roll journals of two cooled strand guide rolls are interconnected by a coupling means which can be mounted upon the bearing or roll journals. The coupling means is provided with entrainment surfaces for the rotational movement of the guide rolls. These entrainment surfaces coact with the bearing or roll journals.
