A strap clip for attaching a length of thin electric heating cable to a floor includes a flat elongate flexible base for attachment to a floor. The base has two elongate parallel side edges and two ends. The strap clip includes two parallel opposing walls extending generally perpendicularly from the base. Each wall is adjacent one of the side edges and includes a series of spaced apart notches for receiving and securing a heating cable with an interference fit. Each notch is perpendicularly aligned with a corresponding notch on the opposing wall. The strap clip may be arranged in a roll.
