A choke (10) for reducing spray of fuel exiting a fuel dispensing system nozzle spout (S) having an annular frame (12) positioned within the spout (S) adjacent the output opening (O). The choke (10) has a concentric hub (14) connected to the frame (12) by three, relatively narrow struts (16, 18, 20) positioned equidistant around the hub (14). The hub (14) has a solid, cylindrical fore section (22) and a tubular aft section (24). A duct (26) extends from the tubular aft section (24), through one strut (20) and the frame (12), to the venturi opening (V). Fuel flowing through the spout (S) toward the output opening (O), it is slowed and divided into three streams by the choke (10), flows along the hub (14) fore section (22) and converges, compressed and linearly aligned, at the output opening (O) of the spout (S) to reduce spraying of fuel at the output opening (O) of the spout (S).

L'invention concerne un étrangleur (10) permettant de diminuer la pulvérisation de carburant sortant du bec (S) de la buse d'un système de distribution de carburant présentant un cadre annulaire (12) positionné dans le bec (S) de façon adjacente à l'ouverture de l'orifice de sortie (O). L'étrangleur (10) comprend un moyeu concentrique (14) relié au cadre (12) par trois entretoises (16, 18, 20) relativement étroites et positionnées de manière équidistante autour du moyeu (14). Celui-ci (14) comprend une section avant cylindrique solide (22) et une section arrière tubulaire (24). Un conduit (26) s'étend à partir de la section arrière tubulaire (24), à travers une entretoise (20) et le cadre (12), vers l'ouverture venturi (V). Du carburant s'écoulant à travers le bec (S) en direction de l'ouverture de l'orifice de sortie (O), est ralenti et réparti en trois flux par l'étrangleur (10), s'écoule le long de la section avant (22) du moyeu (14) et converge, comprimé et aligné de manière linéaire, au niveau de l'ouverture de l'orifice de sortie (O) du bec (S), de manière à réduire la pulvérisation de carburant au niveau de l'ouverture de l'orifice de sortie (O) du bec (S).
