ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A trailer for a tractor-trailer vehicle wherein the trailer box is faired to reduce wind drag characteristics. The trailer has a bottom wall with a stepped down portion faired at the leading end and merging into the rear wheel cavity by a concave portion tapering upwardly and outwardly. The leading end of the trailer is rounded and is preferably elliptical in shape and the top nose of the trailer is also rounded and again preferably elliptical in shape. The longitudinal top edges of the trailer are rounded as are also the rear edges. The stepped down bottom portion can provide additional cargo capacity or, alternatively, a separate compartment.
