A die assembly for draw stamping sheet metal in a press has an upper die structure and a lower die structure, each constructed and arranged to be mounted on a press for reciprocal movement therebetween. The upper die structure and the lower die structure have complementary stamping surfaces for stamping sheet metal to a desired configuration. A clamping assembly and a stretching assembly grip the sheet metal along opposite sides of the complementary stamping surfaces and drivingly move apart pre-stretching the sheet metal as the upper die structure and the lower die structure are closed to stamp the sheet metal to the desired configuration.

L'invention concerne un ensemble matrice qui permet d'emboutir par étirage une plaque métallique et qui comprend une structure supérieure et une structure inférieure. Chaque structure est conçue pour être montée sur une presse de façon à effectuer des mouvements de va-et-vient. Les deux structures présentent des surfaces d'emboutissage complémentaires, qui permettent d'emboutir la plaque métallique en lui donnant la configuration désirée. Un ensemble de serrage et un ensemble d'étirage saisissent la plaque sur les bords opposés des surfaces complémentaires, puis s'éloignent en la pré-étirant quand les deux structures de la filière sont fermées, ce qui permet de l'emboutir en lui donnant la configuration désirée.
