Stretch wrap films are used to hold goods to pallets during storage and shipping. A multilayer stretch wrap film with at least one outer layer of a polypropylene and polystyrene mixture, and other layers of blends of polyethylenes. The film of the present invention optimizes physical properties enabling the film to exhibit superior abrasion resistance in order to protect wrapped contents from damage and exposure during shipment as well as good cling thereby eliminating the need for taping of the film in order to secure the contents.

La présente invention décrit des films d~emballage extensibles employés pour solidariser des marchandises à des palettes au cours du stockage et du transport. La présente invention décrit plus particulièrement un film d~emballage extensible multicouche dont l~une des couches externes au moins est constituée d~un mélange de polypropylène et de polystyrène, tandis que les autres couches sont constituées de mélanges de polyéthylènes. Le film décrit dans la présente invention est optimisé du point de vue de ses propriétés physiques, ce qui lui permet de présenter une résistance à l~abrasion élevée et ainsi, de protéger les marchandises emballées contre les dégâts et les conditions extérieures durant le transport, de même qu'une adhérence satisfaisante, ce qui permet d'éviter l~utilisation de bande adhésive pour stabiliser les marchandises.
