A stretchable flame resistant fabric formed from a series of flame resistant warp yarns interwoven with a series of filling yarns. The filling yarns comprise core yarns formed from an elastic material, wrapped with a series of wrap yarns formed from a flame resistant material. The stretchable flame resistant fabric thus provides a desired degree of flame resistance protection, while at the same time is stretchable in one direction to provide the fabric with greater flexibility without sacrificing flame resistance protection.

Cette invention concerne un tissu ininflammable extensible (10) constitué d'une série de fils de chaîne ininflammables (11) entrelacés avec une série de fils de trame (12). Ces derniers comportent des fils âme (15) constitués d'une matière élastique, enveloppés par une série de fils enveloppants (16) constitués d'une matière ininflammable. Ce tissu ininflammable extensible (10) offre ainsi un degré souhaité de protection contre les flammes, tout en étant extensible dans une direction. Ceci assure au tissu une plus grande souplesse sans sacrifier pour autant la protection contre les flammes.
