Abstract of Disclosure This invention relates to a stretchable spun- bonded web suitable as top-liner for a disposable diaper, pad, bandage and the like, and a process for making the same. In particular, the invention relates to a polyolefin web where the crossover points of the fibers do not rupture when the web is stretched to 50% of its original length, but maintains approximately its original structure, which makes it extremely suitable for such applications. The web is made by melt blowing polypropylene of less than 1.2 intrinsic viscosity at a filament velocity of at least 15 meters per second on a smooth collecting surface having a temperature less than 65 F.
