ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Striking apparatus is described, comprising a reciprocat- ing striking piston operated by pressure medium, a tool to transfer striking energy from the striking piston to the object of work, and a shank cylinder to move the tool by means of pressure medium to- wards the striking piston in order to cause a striking contact between the tool and the striking piston. The piston of the shank cylinder is an integral part of the tool and the face of the piston of the shank cylinder looking towards the striking piston acts as a support face to transfer the feed force to the tool.
