Abstract: A tool for striking the ground such as a shovel, a hoe or the like. the tool has a striking head,an elongated hollow handle rigidly connected to the striking head,an impact receiving means positioned inside the hollow handle and in contact with the striking head,an inertia bar slidably inserted inside the hollow handle with a top segment of the inertia bar protruding from the hollow handle at an end opposite the striking head, the inertia bar being slidable inside the hollow handle for impacting on the impact receiving means. The striking head does not have to be lifted from the ground during use.
