ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A stringer lamp assembly in which conductors extend- ing upwardly from lamp sockets are connected at spaced intervals to an elongated bus formed by a pair of open and unjacketed conductors. The conductive wires of the unjacketed conductors are spliced to the conductive wires of a jacketed power cord having a male connector plug. In order to improve the mechanical integrity and weather resistance of the splice, the latter is encapsulated in plastic which is molded into the shape of a generally rectangular block. The splice block may be hung from a messenger wire which serves to support the lamp sockets.
