In a strip-coiling apparatus a bending roller for deflecting the strip and a severing device for cutting the strip after formation of a coil are arranged to move alternately into a working position immediately downstream of a feed roller so that the leading end of the severed strip can be given the necessary curvature by the bending roller. -1-
