The invention provides a strip (610) for use in a stabilised earth structure which has a tensile portion in the form of an elongate core (615), and friction wings (611) for frictional engagement with the earth in which the strip is to be located. The friction wings (611) may be provided with ribs (612) in order to increase frictional interaction with the earth. The cores (616; 618) may be made out of e.g. steel or polymer and the friction wings may be made of e.g. plastics. Alternatively, the entire strip may be made of a single piece of material with a thickened region providing the core (615) and thinner regions providing the friction wings (611).
Bande (610) destinée à être utilisée dans une structure en terre stabilisée, cette bande comprenant une partie extensible se présentant sous forme d'une partie centrale allongée (615) et des ailes de frottement (611) conçues pour s'insérer par frottement dans la terre dans laquelle doit être placée ladite bande. Les ailes de frottement (611) peuvent comporter des nervures (612) qui servent à augmenter l'interaction par frottement avec la terre. Les âmes (616; 618) peuvent être en acier ou en polymère, et les ailes de frottement en plastique. Dans une autre forme de réalisation, la bande tout entière peut être constituée d'un seul morceau de matériau dans lequel une zone plus épaisse constitue l'âme (615) et des zones plus minces constituent les ailes de frottement (611).
