A strip (1) for winding around and gripping an elongate object, e.g. a cable (37), each end of the strip (1) comprising a connection part (9a) which may interlock with a respective connection part (9b) of another, substantially identical, strip (1), thereby enabling a plurality of such strips (1) to be connected together substantially end-to-end to form a longer strip for winding around and gripping an elongate object.
