A stripping compound whose base consists of a polar aprotic solvent, an ether and water. The compound contains (1) a polar aprotic solvent, dimethylsulfoxide or N-methyl-pyrolidinone; (2) an ether (either anisole or tetrahydrofuran (THF)), and (3) water. Such a compound, of the water - solvent type, not only costs less but has stripping capability that is at least as great as a solvent used without water.

Composition décapante à base d'un solvant aprotique polaire, d'un éther et d'eau. La composition selon l'invention comporte (1) un solvant aprotique polaire, notamment diméthylsulfoxyde ou N-méthyl-pyrolidinone: (2) un éther choisi parmi l'anisole et le tétrahydrofurane (THF); et (3) de l'eau. Cette composition de type eau-solvant a non seulement un coût moindre mais aussi une efficacité en décapage peinture au moins égale à celle du solvant utilisé sans eau.
