The stroboscopic effect is the optical effect in filming of rotating wheels or objects having spokes or visible marks resulting in that the wheels or objects appear to stand still or rotate backwards to the true and expected rotation. The strobo- scopic effect is a function of the ratio of intermittent frames per second of the camera, the speed of rotation of an object or wheel and the number of visible markings or spokes on the rotating object or wheel. Before this innovation there is no system that makes it possible to eliminate, or control the stroboscopic effect in film and video. The heretofore used methods are based on restrictive framing, restrictive angles and editing that try to exclude rotating objects or wheels from the view of the audience. These restrictive methods seriously minimize the dramatic, artistic and expressive power of the filmed action.
