ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A structural member for use in the production of sleeping bags or the like is composed of an outer fabric layer, a lining fabric layer, a heat insulation fabric, and a layer of heat insulating feather filling. The heat insulating fabric is secured to one of the outermost fabrics at its interior face. The feather filling is disposed with an elongate channel defined by an interior face of the other one of the outermost fabrics, by inwardly facing surface of the insulation fabric and by partition walls secured therebetween, for instance by stitching. The advance in the art is in facilitating the production with the resulting cost savings, combined with an improved resistance to undesired shift of feathers within the structure.
