A B S T R A C T This invention consists of a connection between a column and a horizontal and diagonal structural beam and a connection at the intersection of two crossing diagonal beams. The beams involved are of the wide flange type, the we]ded wide flange type, and the hollow structural section. In the connection to the column, a gusset plate is introduced between the column and the beam. This gusset plate is thicker than the web of the beam. The connection at the intersection of the diagonal beams consists of providing a boxed-in section in one of the beams through which passes the other diagonal beam, and is contained therein.
