IN THE UNITED STATES PATENT AND TRADEMARK OFFICE APPLICATION FOR PATENT -of- DONALD R. DUFF RICHARD W. HOLLAND ERNEST F. MAYER -for- STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MAKING A LOW-COST SHOCK-RESISTANT WATCH ABSTRACT A new and improved low-cost shock-resistant electronic wristwatch module and method of making the same is disclosed. The watch module comprises a case, a substrate mounted in the frame for supporting an electro-optical display means, a frequency standard, a frequency divider and means for driving the display, at least one battery removably mounted on the frame; an electrically conductive member disposed in the frame for effecting electrical connections between circuit trace pads on the substrate and terminals of the at least one battery, the electrically conductive member including a resiliant extension thereof disposed for deflectably engaging an ad- jacent circuit trace on the substrate to thereby complete an electrical circuit for operating the electro-optical display means, whereby the case is not a part of circuit connections between the battery and the substrate.
