A method of and apparatus (11) for forming a continuous structure (85) includes the steps of preselecting a liquid reactive resin forming material (96), a particulate solid additive material (97), and a porous blanket (78, 95), mixing and encapsulating the additive particles (97) with the liquid resin forming material (96) while tumbling the materials along a cylindrical mixing chamber (51). The leading edge of the structure is grasped with a gripping device (73) along substantially its entire length and advanced over a horizontal supporting surface (71). Once a desired length has been formed a cutting device (82) cuts the structure (85) and the cut portion is placed into a final configuration while flexible and adhesive.
