Disclosed herein is a stud for a snowmobile track, the stud comprising a shank having a ground-contacting end, a first threaded portion and a second threaded portion, the first and second threaded portions being arranged to receive corresponding first and second threaded fasteners, means for inhibiting the threaded fasteners from transferring between the first and second threaded portions. Also enclosed is a stud assembly and a method for installing a stud on a snowmobile track.
