It has previously been thought desirable when providing an internally screw- threaded socket (1) for use in studded foot-wear to provide each socket and a complementary stud (2) with complementary screw-threads with a small helix angle and many turns in order to maximise the frictional grip between the stud (2) and socket (1). The invention provides a multi-start thread requiring at most one and a half turns (560°) to achieve full engagement, Contrary to conventional thinking such an arrangement is workable and has advantages over the known single start-threads for studded footwear. Arrangements of sockets and studs with two-start threads and retaining means (14; 16; 17 and 19) to prevent unscrewing of the studs are disclosed.

Jusqu'à présent l'on a estimé qu'il était souhaitable, lors de la fabrication des chaussures cloutées à manchon fileté (1) interne, de doter chaque manchon et un crampon complémentaire (2) de filetages de vis complémentaires à faible angle d'hélice et à plusieurs tours, afin d'optimiser l'adhérence de frottement entre le crampon (2) et le manchon (1). On a conçu un filetage à plusieurs points de départ nécessitant au maximum un tour et demi (560°) pour obtenir une prise complète. A l'encontre des opinions traditionnelles, un tel agencement est réalisable et présente des avantages par rapport aux filetages à un seul point de départ pour chaussures cloutées. On a également conçu des agencements de manchons et de crampons à deux points de départ, possédant des moyens de retenue (14; 16; 17 et 19) destinés à empêcher le desserrage des crampons.
