Disclosed herein are stuffed pads for a tape measure bonded to surface of a tape measure housing with a binder or with various types of engaging slot made in the form of a recessed slot, a T shaped slot or a pit type slot etc. The inner cavity of the stuffed pad being filled with shock absorption materials is able to buffer a direct impact to the tape measure housing and protect the housing from cracking, breaking or being totally destroyed. Furthermore, the stuffed pad ensures both shock and slip resistant properties of the tape measure housing but never degrades the appearance of the tape measure or affects the grip comfortableness of the surface of a tape measure housing. The life time of a tape measure equipped with such stuffed pads will surely be lengthened.
