A one-piece bushing (31) to be inserted into the seal cavity of a rotary mechanical device includes a one-piece cylindrical bushing element (21) with a single slit (39) to allow easy installation over the shaft. The bushing (31) is a substantially cylindrical semi-rigid member with an inner bore (34) closely approximating the outer diameter of the shaft and includes a groove (36) at the motor end on the outer surface (33) and a corresponding groove (37) on the inner surface to provide a lantern ring. Milling slots (35) or other types of relief are formed on one surface of a flat piece of material to allow for shaping into cylindrical form and to provide for easy installation over an installed device shaft. Seal water openings (38) are provided between the outer groove (36) and inner groove (37) of the bushing to form a lantern ring. Generally, two or three packing rings are added on the motor side to complete the shaft sealing system for installation in the seal cavity.
L'invention concerne une douille monobloc (31) à insérer dans la cavité d'étanchéité d'un dispositif mécanique rotatif, laquelle douille présente un élément de douille cylindrique monobloc (21) pourvu d'une seule fente (39) permettant un montage facile sur un arbre. Cette douille (31) est un organe semi-rigide sensiblement cylindrique, pourvu d'un alésage interne (34) dont le diamètre est très proche du diamètre extérieur de l'arbre, et présente une rainure (36) au niveau de l'extrémité moteur sur la surface extérieure (33) et une rainure correspondante (37) sur la surface intérieure pour former une lanterne.
