A subcutaneous access device for connection to a peritoneal dialysis catheter which includes an elongate housing (20) having a needle-impervious outer shell (22) forming the sides and bottom of the housing. The housing further includes a top expanse (24) which is connected at its periphery (24a) to the outer shell and is composed of a needle-permeable and self-sealing material. The expanse has an expansive flat presentation region (26) which extends substantially the length and breadth of the housing (20). A hollow central chamber (30), disposed intermediate the top expanse and the bottom of the shell, extends the length of the housing. A fitting(32) projects outwardly from the housing and is positioned to accommodate connection with an implanted peritoneal dialysis catheter (17).

Dispositif d'accès sous-cutané se rattachant à un cathéter pour dialyse péritonéale et comportant un boîtier allongé (20) dont la couche externe (22) est imperméable aux aiguilles et forme les côtés et le fond du boîtier. En outre, le boîtier comprend une membrane supérieure (24), rattachée à la couche externe à sa périphérie (24a), faite d'un matériau perméable aux aiguilles et auto-étanche. La membrane possède une partie plate dilatable (26) qui s'étend essentiellement sur la longueur et la largeur du boîtier (20).
