A sealed connector assembly (10) for use with equipment subject to submersion under water includes two electrical connector shells (25, 29) which are inserted in bayonet fashion into opposite sides of a locking member (40), which is then manually rotated to lock the parts together and shield the electrical connection. The three parts have alignment marks (56, 58, 59) for axial assembly and another mark (57) indicating the rotation of the locking member (40) to a locked position. A body of grease (55) is disposed in one connector shell (25) and an O-ring (50) is placed on the barrel (27) to provide sealing when the connector shells (25, 27) are locked together. The connector shells (25, 29) have wire entry ports and sealing ports for admitting an encapsulating material to seal the wire entry ends. Score lines (68, 69) allow for fracture and removal of the locking member (40) during servicing. Methods of assembly and disassembly are also disclosed.
Cette invention concerne un ensemble de prise étanche (10) destiné à un matériel susceptible d'être immergé dans l'eau. Cette prise comporte deux demi-coquilles (25, 29) à emboîtement baïonnette de part et d'autre d'un élément de verrouillage (40), lequel, après avoir été tourné manuellement, bloque les demi-coquilles et assure une connexion électrique sous protection. Les trois pièces comportent des repères d'alignement (56, 58, 59) pour l'assemblage axial et un autre repère (57) indiquant que l'élément de verrouillage (40) est tourné sur la position de verrouillage. Une dose de graisse (55) est déposée à l'intérieur de la demi-coquille (25). Un joint torique (50) disposé sur le barillet (27) assure l'étanchéité lorsque que les deux demi-coquilles (25, 27)sont en position de verrouillage. Les demi-coquilles (25, 29) comportent des passages pour fils et des orifices d'étanchéité pour l'injection du matériau assurant l'étanchéité des passages pour fils. Des pliures (68, 69) permettent de fracturer et de retirer l'élément de verrouillage (40) lors des interventions. Sont également décrites des méthodes de montage et de démontage.
