A coherent receiver for electromagnetic radiation comprising an input optics means (10) for collecting an input signal of electromagnetic radiation at a frequency FS, an optical local oscillator (100) for generating an optical signal at a frequency FO amplitude-modulated at a frequency FLO, a mixer element (60) responsive simultaneously to the frequencies FS, FO, and FLO, where the input signal is injected electrically into the mixer element and the optical signal is injected optically into the mixer element to produce an output signal at a frequency FIF equal to the difference between FS and FLO, and electronics (50) connected to the mixer element for processing the output signal.

L'invention concerne un récepteur cohérent de radiations électro-magnétiques présentant une optique d'entrée (10) destinée à recevoir un signal d'entrée de radiations électromagnétiques à la fréquence F¿S?, un oscillateur optique local (100) destiné à générer un signal optique de la fréquence F¿O?, modulé en amplitude à la fréquence F¿LO?, et un élément mélangeur (60) réagissant simultanément aux fréquences F¿S?, F¿O? et F¿LO?.
