To provide reliable and customized authentication, a parameter to be used in authentication is defined for the operator. A secret which may be stored e.g. in a subscriber identity module is calculated (404) from the operator parameter and a subscriber key. An authentication response is calculated (405) from the secret and the challenge to be used in authentication with a one-way function.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'authentification fiable et personnalisé, dans lequel un paramètre à utiliser au cours de l'authentification est défini pour l'opérateur. Une information secrète, pouvant être mémorisée p. ex. dans un module d'identité d'un abonné, est calculée (404) à partir du paramètre de l'opérateur et d'une clé d'abonné. Une réponse d'authentification est calculée (405), au moyen d'une fonction univoque, à partir de l'information secrète et de l'information publique à utiliser dans l'authentification.
