In a system which includes (a) a repeater server network made up of a plurality of repeater servers, wherein a plurality of subscribers to the repeater server network publish information via one or more origin servers, and in which at least some of the repeater servers replicate some or all of the information available on the origin servers, a method comprising: obtaining a request for information; determining whether the request is for information from a subscriber to the repeater server network; and attempting to serve the information when the request is determined to be for information from a subscriber to the repeater server network.

Les demandes émanant de clients des serveurs d'origine d'un réseau sont interceptées par un mécanisme réflecteur et sélectivement réfléchies sur d'autres serveurs dits répéteurs. Les réflecteurs sélectionnent le meilleur des répéteurs d'un groupe de répéteurs possibles puis redirigent le client sur ledit répéteur auquel le client adresse alors sa demande. La ressource peut être réécrite pour remplacer au moins certains des identificateurs de ressources s'y trouvant par des identificateurs modifiés désignant le répéteur au lieu du serveur d'origine.
