An apparatus in a digital network receives at least one input transport stream (202a, 202b, 210) having a plurality of PID streams and outputs at least one transport streams. The apparatus demultiplexes (222) the at least one input transport streams and determines whether to: decrypt packets included in the at least one input transport stream; statistically multiplex (222) a group of PID streams included in the at least one input transport stream; and encrypt packets (220) included in the at least one input transport stream.

L'invention porte sur un appareil de réseau numérique recevant au moins un flot de transport entrant (202a, 202b, 210) contenant plusieurs flots de champs d'identification de paquets (PID) et émettant au moins un flot sortant. L'appareil démultiplexe (222) l'un au moins des flots de transport entrants et détermine s'il doit ou non: décrypter les paquets compris dans le ou les flots entrants; multiplexer statistiquement (222) le groupe de flots de PID compris dans le ou les flots entrants; ou crypter (220) les paquets compris dans le ou les flots entrants.
