A method and device for the delivery of a substance into skin via the rotational movement of a microabrader device reduces the effects of operator variability. The method includes applying a substance to an area of a patient's skin through the rotational movement of microprotrusions. The movement of the microprotrusions can be imparted by a spring device or the like present in the microabrader device or the motion of the operator through the handle of the microabrader device. The rotational motion localizes the administration of the drug or vaccine dosage in the abraded skin area. The device can include means for monitoring pressure of the device against the skin and thereby promote consistency between applications and control of penetration depth. The substance, drug or vaccine may be placed on the microprotrusions and a reconstituting liquid included in the microabrader device.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif d'administration percutanée d'une substance par l'intermédiaire du mouvement rotatif d'un dispositif micro-abrasif; ce dispositif et ce procédé permettant de réduire les incidences de la variabilité de l'opérateur. Le procédé décrit dans cette invention consiste à appliquer une substance sur une zone de la peau d'un patient par l'intermédiaire du mouvement rotatif de microprotubérances. Le mouvement des microprotubérances peut être communiqué par un dispositif à ressort ou par tout autre dispositif analogue placé dans le dispositif micro-abrasif, ou par le déplacement de l'opérateur au moyen de la poignée du dispositif micro-abrasif. Le déplacement rotatif limite l'administration du médicament ou de la dose de vaccin à la zone de peau abrasée. Le dispositif décrit dans cette invention peut comprendre un moyen qui permet de contrôler la pression exercée sur la peau par le dispositif et, ainsi, de favoriser la continuité entre les applications, et de réguler la profondeur de pénétration. La substance, le médicament ou le vaccin peut être placé sur les microprotubérances et un liquide de reconstitution peut être inclus dans le dispositif micro-abrasif.
