The invention provides methods of preventing or treating a condition associated with DNA damage in an animal comprising the administration of a substance that interferes with the activity of the CUL4A ubiquitin ligase. The invention also provides a substance that interferes with the activity of CUL4A, as well as compositions comprising the interfering substance and a carrier. The substance of the invention preferably enhances nucleotide excision repair activity in an animal. The invention further provides methods of identifying substances that negatively or positively modulate the expression and/or activity of CUL4A.
L'invention porte sur des procédés de prévention ou de traitement dun état associé à une lésion à l'ADN chez un animal, qui comportent l'administration d'une substance qui interfère avec l'activité de l'ubiquitine ligase CUL4A. L'invention porte également sur une substance qui interfère avec l'activité de CUL4A, ainsi que sur des compositions comportant la substance interférente et un support. La substance de l'invention améliore de préférence l'activité de réparation d'excision nucléotidique chez un animal. L'invention porte en outre sur des procédés didentification des substances qui modulent de façon négative ou positive l'expression et/ou l'activité de CUL4A.
